Practical + Stylish + Portable Espresso Maker = ?
A carpenter pencil is not luxurious, but it won’t roll away when you set it down. The strap of a Bang and Olufsen Beoplay A2 serves as a stylish handle, but I wanted to go a few steps further in the use of leather.
Sketch Exploration
The thought of unwrapping something special to invoke a sense of excitement, energy is what fueled the “reveal” aesthetic.
I focused on the use of leather as a way to heighten the luxurious feel. This opened up new and invigorating opportunities for the cup handle.
Mock-ups
To prove that a square profile could be just as comfortable to hold as round, I focused on mock-ups.
None of the horizontal loops felt right, so I went back to the traditional, vertical loop.

How to Use
1.
Plug-in to a power source to start the process.
2.
A default pressure is shown. Press the screen to cycle through pressures.
3.
Press and hold to start the countdown for the heating and pressurization.
4.
Unplug after the process is complete.
